ABOUT
About NANA WATANABE
NANA WATANABE is a textile jewelry brand inspired by nature.
Using embroidery as a technique, the brand creates jewelry that gently accompanies the wearer, rather than standing apart as mere decoration.
In our everyday lives, surrounded by cities and constant information, we often find ourselves distant from nature.
We begin to act as if we are separate from it,
guided by quiet assumptions—what suits us, what does not, what we should or should not wear.
The jewelry of NANA WATANABE does not try to challenge these ideas directly.
Instead, it hopes to offer a small pause—a moment to soften the gaze and shift the mood.
Unlike clothing, jewelry does not require a big decision.
Yet it can subtly change how we feel, how we stand, how we move through the day.
Jewelry can be more free, more personal, and more intuitive.
There is no need to return fully to nature.
If a piece of jewelry can gently remind us of it, even for a moment—
light in both presence and weight—
and make everyday life feel a little lighter, that is enough.

Process
Starting with textile design, embroidery, cutting, three-dimensional construction and finishing, all processes are designed as part of the design process.
The embroidery is done by machine in the factory.
This is not for efficiency, but to accurately express the intended lines, density, and structure.
The flat fabric is transformed into a three-dimensional object through cutting and construction.
The result is jewelry that is surprisingly light and fits comfortably to the body.

Designer
NANA WATANABE is a textile-based jewelry brand and wearable art expression by designer Nana Watanabe.
After studying fashion design and gaining experience on the ISSEY MIYAKE collection production team, she liberated the technique of embroidery from the context of decoration or craft, and established her own unique style that sees color, line, and structure as forms themselves.
The creatures and plants that exist in nature, the ripples of light and water, are reconstructed as an "imaginary paradise" that exists between reality and fantasy, and are sublimated into light, sculptural textile jewelry.
We actively use recycled materials and pursue jewelry that is light, free, and inspiring, without relying on expensive gems or minerals.
